This Summer we are running our first Young Photographers project which includes a free photography workshop in camera basics on Thursday 24th July 2025 and a trip to the Through my lens exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery in London on Friday 25th July 2025. https://www.npg.org.uk/whatson/display/2025/through-my-lens-2025 The Through My Lens display showcases new photographic portraits created by secondary school students as part of the National Portrait Gallery’s Law Photography Programme for Schools.

After the exhibition we will have lunch and then enjoy a  photography walk to Southbank to photograph the skateboarders. This will be a 15 to 20 minute walk there and back to the tube station to return to Slough.  

We will then return on Tuesday 31st July 2025 to review the best images the group has captured and shortlist them for our own end of project exhibition at the end of the year. 

This project is open to any student aged 11 to 18 who attends school in Slough or who lives in Slough. 

STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING A PACKED LUNCH for the London trip. WE WILL NOT BE STOPPING AT ANY SHOPS OR FAST FOOD RESTURANTS ON THE DAY. Students will need to purchase a london travelcard zones 1 to 6 for the day.

• Camera Basics workshop - Thursday 24th July 2pm to 4pm - YES Slough, Unit 2, Queensmere Shopping Centre, Slough, SL1 1LN (Next door to Subway sandwich)

• Photography Exhibition Trip - Friday 25th July 2025 Meet at 10 am at Slough train station. We will aim to be back in Slough by 4pm but 6pm at the very latest.

• Photo review session - Thursday 31st July 2025 2pm to 4pm - YES Slough, Unit 2, Queensmere Shopping Centre, Slough, SL1 1LN (Next door to Subway sandwich)

Spaces for the summer workshops are limited to 12 students so please book early to avoid disappointment.
